Animating process: stop scene!

This is a scene before the island scene and I am drawing it in photoshop.

I want to searched for some reference but there are no such movement online so me and my boyfriend had been running in our flat, tried to capture some movement I want. After that, I made this test that it quite satisfying.

Then make it into line,

Colour all the frames and save them as PNG files sequence.

Here is the finished work!

Although it might not look very accurate but I think this is the best I can draw with the restriction of time. I almost mimic the exact pose when draw each frame which is something I have never tried before. Even though I looked like an idiot when doing that, I had so much fun and notice the close link between acting and animating which are both important when being an successful animator.

I have also created this coast to let audience knows that the character stops because of dead end. I think this is the most effective way to lead the story and notify the audience without drawing the whole environment.

Like before, I want to animation to be unified by its colour and lighting, therefore I applied the same effects onto this scene so that it matches the rest of the scenes. The waves are reused so as to save time. I enjoyed working in after effect but I feel like there are still also to learn as I am only using only a few functions, maybe there are some more effective tools that could improve the animation? Nevertheless, I am happy with how I approach to the outcome and possibly improve my animating skills during the summer.
