A lot of us started this brief which is The Lifting Tower light projecting project. The projects is funded by some of
the leading retail organisations in Leeds and will aim to enhance the experience of the visitors of Leeds during Christmas time. I decided to do this brief because it can add more to my CV also it will be a great opportunity to do some live brief especially something new and challenging. We have regular meetings to keep on track and we are put into groups with different illustrators. I am in a group with Sylvia and Ian in illustration so it is very exciting to work with new people!
There are some restrictions: You will need to work in a square format that will
match the final projection.
Your colour pallet is limited to black white, red
green ad blue (think festive winter colour pallet. They also do not want the traditional Christmas stuffs, like the cliche ones, so we are encouraged to think of innovative ideas, something more exciting and festive than the traditional Christmas animation.
We put all our ideas on google drive and exchange ideas!
I want to make the clip more trendy and young so I came up with games, 8-bits games and pixelated images, something like tron!
The first idea was a pixel game. The player is an elf who wants to get to the top of the Christmas tree. To do so, he will have to dodge cars on the road and climb up the tree. I hope audience will find it interesting to see themselves as a character in this festival game and experiencing Christmas in a brand new way.
