I really want to improve my aftereffect skills and started looking at different commercials and animation, find if there are any techniques I do not know and I want to learn. Therefore I find out that I really want to know how one shape morph into another shapes so I ask Oscar if he could give me any advices.
He kindly told me how to do that briefly and gave me some link to youtube tutorials which are very useful and easy to understand!
It is a lot easier than I thought, the only thing to do is to make a mask, time-watch the key frame of one shape and copy it on to another's timeline. I had a lot a fun playing round and try out different shapes as well. The outlines of the shapes could be copy straight away from photoshop and paste on Aftereffect so it is super convenient! I still have not tried morphing shapes with patterns on since they are all masks and I want to play around with different pictures and see what this method is capable with.
This is what I did! This could be applied to nearly every motion graphics or even normal animation. I feel like learning while trying is probably the most effective learning method to me and youtube videos could always wait for me haha. I enjoy learning on my own but obviously it would be better if there's a extremely patient teacher somewhere in this earth could teach me at 2 in the morning.
